It comes from the Cayapa-Colorado language / current Tsáchila-Chachi. PI water = man = manga. The two words is equivalent to " Aqueduct " as stated in the researcher Amílcar Tamayo. Piro = pond or lagoon. Pimampiro is located on the edge of a dissected lagoon ( current Hondón or bowling ) for this reason Antonio Borja ( 41 1582; said Pimampiro means " Laguna Grande ". It is the most sane that exists over the meaning of Pimampiro /MGM
